About me
Let me introduce myself, my name is Laurie. I am an artist of indigenous origin. More precisely; I am part of the Cree community, First Nation.
I have always been attracted to jewelry; especially handmade ones. It’s unmissable when I come across an artisan’s kiosk; I take the time to look at each piece; like I was in a museum! I always told myself that one day, I would like to learn how to design a collection to my liking. It was in 2020 that I decided not to wait any longer and to combine my passion for jewelry with my creative side.
TUKNUT is actually a little nickname that I affectionately use to refer to my indigenous friends and family members; which also later became my nickname. I assembled with care; each piece of my TUKNUT jewelry collection in my workshop located in Gatineau. I like working with stainless steel for its quality and durability and semi-precious stones for their beauty, colors and originality.
